ANACAO Ana Castillo, daughter of a sculptor, was born in Granada (Spain) in 1981, grew up in the South of France and studied Visual Communication in Montpellier. After living in Rome, Barcelona and Granada, she is now based in Paris, where she works as a freelance painter and graphic designer.
She has drawn all her life, and finds her inspiration in music, fashion and independent comic strips. Her drawings have been published in the "Lamono" magazine, Barcelona. As a portait artist she aims to reveal the psychological aspect of her subjects. She has held a solo exhibition in Galerie Az'art in Uzès (Gard) and with her father and brother, has taken part in the touring exhibition "Engagement dans l'Exil, une famille de républicains espagnols", Inspired by the exile of her grandparents. It has been shown at the Château de Valmy in Argelès sur Mer, the Museu Memorial de l'Exil in La Jonquera (Spain) and the Musée Jean Moulin in Paris.
