Dr. JCC poster project

The screen print studio recently completed a series of 3 poster poems for Dr. John Cooper Clarke’s ongoing tour of the UK, Get Him While He’s Still Alive! The posters set out 3 of his most celebrated poems - I Wanna Be Yours, Chickentown, and his famous paean to Sheffield. This last we set in Impact, the typeface produced by Sheffield typefounders Stephenson Blake & Co. and printed on a bright orange stock, evoking - rust? Henderson’s Relish?

‘Chickentown’ went down with an ironic shiny metallic gold, and ‘I Wanna Be Yours’ is based on the poet’s own handwritten version.

We’ve produced some simple frames to go with them, and for ‘Sheffield’ a stunning orange and black version to match the graphics.
